Billet Bob

I recently purchased a 02 Ls6 with appr. 30K on it, to throw in my dune buggy, since it was sitting for about a year, I decided to change the front timing cover seal and the rear crank seal, The front one piece of cake, The rear one a different story! When I went to the dealership to purchase the seals the front one was the same but Crank was different, Its smaller thickness and The teflon seal is different from the old style, does anyone know if you still use the old J tool to install the new seal or just put it in the cover and install cover over the crank?
