I'm going to be getting my GMMG Chambered exhaust in a few weeks for my WS6. I was thinking about getting an air lid to compliment the exhaust. What are your opinions on the Direct Flow Lid? Quality, problems, etc.? Any bad experiences? Any better lids for around the same price? I've heard TSP lids are the best right now. Are those around the same price as the direct flow? What air lid would you recommend getting? Any info would be great! Thanks a lot!!!

I have a direct flo and the fit/quality are pretty good. It does have the rounded corners which is good and seals good with the ftra if you have one.

Ok, you beat me to it, Colonel! I had one of the first Direct-Flo's out back when they were brand new. The lid cracked near the TB opening after awhile and was eventually replaced with a new one. The current design is much beefier near the TB and is more forgiving to the occasional beating it takes when removing it for maintenance. Buy one. The prices can't be beaten nowadays. Can anyone else remember when lids were $200. or more?

The TSP LIDS are on sale right now. ![Cheers!!](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_cheers.gif)
I say go with TSP. Not because I think it's superior in performance, but having had both TSP's lid and the Direct-flo, The TSP fits MUCH better.

k, from what I understand the ONLY one that makes more power than all the rest is the Whisper lid (hope I got the brand right). The SLP's and the rest are pretty much the same.
Disclaimer!:
(Granted I don't have a Whisper lid, but I think that is actually taller that the other lids are, probably allowing air to more easily pass thru.)

the tsp lid and the holley filter fits flawlessly. I've seen others not fit so nicely requiring a good bit of finesse, i guess its a cheaper mold or something. was a snap to put my tsp black lid $99 on and the holley filter after doing the free cai mod, rocks out great.
be sure to clamp the MAF clamp down tight. Mine came loose after a few days. I wish they would have sent a better clamp with the lid only gripe. but whatever.

"k, from what I understand the ONLY one that makes more power than all the rest is the Whisper lid"
100%
Read the above comments about a lid is a lid is a lid. This theory gets reiterized EVERY SINGLE TIME IT'S TESTED.
BTW, the Whisper lid I had was pretty much a direct rip-off of an MTI lid.

I will say that I like the design of my TSP more than my Direct Flo. However, I never had a problem with my Direct Flo, but one of the tabs has broken off my TSP with everything else the same.

I've had my Direct Flo lid for 2 years with no problems. It's much better than that POS Whisper lid I had before; that thing cracked in several places.

I just got my Direct-Flo lid after waiting a few weeks. The installation was kind of a pain in the ***. It fit on to the MAF good, but the tabs didn't want to go in. But with a little help, I got it on easy. I noticed an immediate difference. There is a much better throttle response. The revs seem to go up and down quicker, and the car pulls a lot better. The exhaust note seems a little deeper sounding, and a little louder. And you can't beat the price. It cost me $89 for the lid(plus shipping), that came with the filter for the air pump for free. Every other vendor I've checked out charged $15 or $16 for the air pump filter. I would definately have to recommend the Direct-Flo.
