This sucks. Is this normal?

year, engine, drivetrain, mods
and realize that the 1/2 mark on the guage is not accurate.
on the highway i generally get 50-75miles before the needle reaches the FULL mark, then 100 miles from F-3/4, and again from 3/4-1/2, then about 75 miles from 1/2-1/4, and about 50 mile from 1/4-near E.
And that was mainly doing 75-100 mph the whole tank. Granted I recently gave it a full tune-up including (but not limited to) iridium plugs, magnecor wires, front and rear oxygen sensors, fuel filter, Gumout injector cleaning system, and premium gas only. Also, depending on the year of your car, they changed the size of the gas tank from like 12 to 16 gallons roughly. It's listed under the " car specs" thread in the stickys on this forum. Hope this helps. l8r

The thing I dont understand is, I would read user reviews about the 2000-2002 z28 camaro and around 80% of people would list it has good gas mileage. Some even say it gets better than some 4 cylinder cars. What could be some issues to why I am getting close to 10 miles per gallon?

Due to driving habits, the type of driving you've been doing, and yes, regular maintenence items, I don't think it's unreasonable for your car to get 36 miles out of a quarter of a tank. Seeing that GM gas gauges will sit on full for about ever, then start moving a steady, quick pace towards E.
Don't be broke, put a full tank of fuel in it, drive for a while, then report back. This 1/4 tank junk really doesn't help us much.

i do notice that the guage can change pretty noticably from one minute to the next.
like i'll pull in to a store with 1/2 thank (dead center of the mark), and when i come out and go home 5 miles the needle is well into the black side of the line below 1/2.
fill the tank, run to near E, then fill again.
come back and tell us what you got.

, is your car throughing any service engine soon codes? if you have a bad 02 sensor or somthing like that it can also cause bad fuel milage The thing I dont understand is, I would read user reviews about the 2000-2002 z28 camaro and around 80% of people would list it has good gas mileage. But seriously what RPMs were you driving around at? For gas mileage you should be around 1000-1500RPMs. This is not some gutless 4 cylinder that needs to be at 3000PRMs to drive normal. Keep it in the highest gear possible.
Hell, just too see if I could, Ive started in 4th gear before and the car didn't bog much, gotta love low end torque
