yes you can. just take the cluster out & carefully unsolder the bulbs you don't need. i did it on my 98Z, my friends cavalier & will be doing it to my 02 WS-6.

ya ive been wanting to get rid of my 'dummy lights' for awhile seeing i dont need them and they r just on because of **** being removed

i just need to know if i can cut the wires to the old bulbs and be finished without screwing up any circuits in the gauge

or if i would need to solder in a resistor or anything

Don't the service engine light is useful just in case if your 02 sensors or camshaft position sensor messed up? Why would you wanna remove the bulb? Just curious that's all

I dont think anyone would remove those lights... He was just talking about lights that arent even monitoring anything... He probably doesnt have the ABS hooked up anymore so it would be totally useless...

with more searching, i think you can just remove them and not solder a resistor in. i'm going !abs, !tcs, !seatbelt, !service vehicle(not the check engine light), !skip shift, !brake... that's all the lights i can think of off the top of my head.

so who has actually done this? i'd like to remove the ABS INOP and seatbelt indicator bulbs. is it as simple as un-soldering the bulbs? will everything still work?
