Changing your oil at 3K is just wasting your money, synthetic or not. Of course Jiffylube will tell you 6 months or 3K. I ran my GC for 9K, had it analyzed by Blackstone and guess what, the TBN was still good. Get an oil analysis to see for yourself and check out bobistheoilguy.com for some good info on oil!

Def. get the jack & stands. You can do so much more with them instead of the ramps. Sears usually has a special on them. My dad got the sears set, nice & sturdy, under $100.

Best advice on this. It's extremely informative, can tell you if your oil is doing its job, any abnormal wear, and will tell you how much life there is left in your oil.

I had a tired old 4.3 Sonoma (RIP) that did great on dino oil, not using any oil until after about 3,200 miles. Beyond there the level would start going down gradually. Not a scientific way to tell but I always took that as a sign that it wanted an oil change. Prolly shoulda verified with oil analysis but I kinda assumed the additives keeping everything in balance were depleted enough to let it start using a bit.

They actually have less stress on them then most of these 4 bangers that go many more miles, unless youre highly modded its ok to treat it like a damn car. (not saying to neglect it, but you dont have to act like its going to break if its not treated like a formula one car)
lol. there must be something wrong with my car cuz i use royal purple and it gets dark as soon as i pour it into my car. lol.

Yep. You have to ask yourself "who am I getting advice from?" If it is the guy selling you the oil, you need to think for a minute.

Now, out of 7 vehicles, we only have 2 that are running non-synth and I usually change them around 3K... but I check the condition first. The Synth oil vehicles go longer, but I check the oil several times, not just for the level but also to see how clean/dirty it is.

Would more Camaros help?

Or maybe a Trans Am would do it!
