i just put royal purple in for the first time two days ago.....but this car has been synthetic since about 02, and its a 99 nbm z. but back to the oil, on the sticker it says next oil change in 5k miles.....is this so.....is royal purple that good i get an extra 2k miles till an oil change......or does is mean that the place i took my car to get the oil change is full of complete jackass's. because halfway thru the oil change they ran out of the oil.....in all it took me 1 hour and 23 minutes......in the first 10 seconds of being in the shop i told them i was in an extreme crunch for time, he said NO PROBLEM SIR with a nice ol smile......and hour and 23 min later i wanted to put my foot thru his face.....ha sorry to ramble. it just made me so mad. but does royal purple really last to 5k miles for the next oil change

yea all synthetic is supposed to be able to go that long but like above i change mine every 3k just to be on the safe side. You should change your own oil next time its easy as hell and you dont have to worry about someone you dont know messing your car up or changing the oil but not the filter or crap like that. and it should only take you 15-20 mins instead of waiting an hour and a half for some dumb *** at a shop

it will be fine to go 5k miles. If you are on synthetic it wont hurt a thing. only reason you have to change dyno oil every 3k is because the oil doesnt do as well with the heat cycles and it loses its lubricating properties much faster. I go 6k miles on my royal purple, and the oil still comes out looking good.

Synthetic doesn't even start to break down minerals till 5k, If your going to change it every 3k you might as well buy regular oil. Seriouslly your wasteing your money. Ask any expert on the subject. 5k is perfect for changing the oil if your using sythetic, royal purple or not..

lol you would think as much as petroleum products cost these days people would be going the recommended distance, rather than flushing money over to the middle east. Oh well, to each their own.
