Default LS2 problems....Please Help.

Hey Guys NEWBIE here. Wish I could have came on here with a better post, but I really need some help and this forum came highly recommended.

I have a 2006 Trailblazer SS LS2 with 70,xxx miles. Having trouble with it and it's got me a little stumped.

If you get on it at all it starts popping and banging out. Check engine light flashes. Yesterday i got a random/multiple cylinder misfire. Changed plugs and wires (bought the ac delco iridiums and msd wires). Today, same thing, but I got the same code plus o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1 low voltage code. I checked fuel pressure it has 60 at idle and does not drop under a load. I pulled 2 gal of fuel and it was clean. I know its not good for it, but in park if you nail it it revs to 6k and drops quick to 4k and doesn't come back up until you let off and hit it again. Only did it once, while checking fuel pressure. Its got me worried. I really need help PLEASE.

I think you can unplug the maf, it should throw it into a safe mod, if it runs better thats the problem. You could aslo always look at the sensor, sometimes to much k and n oil will coat the sensor causing all kinds of problems, check and or clean it.

Well it didn't look dirty, and didn't appear to have oil on it. I cleaned it with tb and intake cleaner and put it back on and that didn't help. After listening to it more, it has a miss at idle and low speeds.

replace your o2 sensor, if its not getting an accurate reading it'll cause it to run badly.

Thanks for the input. I'm gonna call some friends that have access to good scanners.

On an f-body there is a fuse for the MAF in the underhood fusebox marked "engine". Not sure where it is on a TB but there has to be a fuse somewhere. Scan will tell you for sure whether it is MAf or not.

if you got a code for an 02 sensor then replace it. the ecm is not yanking your chain. if it were a maf problem , which is possible, it would more than likely throw a maf code. it would DEFINITELY not throw an o2 sensor code. ive already forgotten which o2 sensor you said the code is for. if it's a post cat then dont worry about it. head another direction.

It was a bank 1 sensor 1 low voltage, which means bank 1 is lean. Which could be a MAF, or 100 other things. Tonight I took it to the best GM tech i know. Should know something tomorrow. I always do my own repairs, but I do not have the best scanner, and it is giving me nothing on this one.

Im glad you understand that even if the code says o2 sensor, that doesn't mean the O2 sensor is bad. The codes will only get you started in the diagnostic process. You will replace a lot of good parts if you replace whatever the scanner says. high or low voltage O2 sensor codes could mean many many different things. MAF codes could also mean many different things.

Did you check for vacuum leaks?

Yes I checked everything I could think of. The only code that its storing is random/multi cylinder misfire, the o2 code went away.
