Question where to start?

I have a 2001 trans am ws6 right now it is stock other than slp lid, k&n air filter, and borla exhaust. my end goal is to have a fun daily driver not a dragster. things I've considerd smooth bellow and 160* thermostat ( are either of these worth the money?) also what other mods would you guys suggest?

long tube headers and an offroad y-pipe will really wake the car up. Get those two things and a tune and you will have a really fun car to drive. Dont bother with the smooth bellows.

who makes long tubes that are easy to install but still have decent gains?
TAtoad I've heard of making your own smooth bellows but I've also heard that you can crack your lid. Also could you feel any difference in your throttle responce after this mod?

From what I've been reading, ARH are the easiest to install, but if you're on a budget Pacesetters are pretty popular.
I'd forget about the smooth bellows.
A 160* stat would be ok, but it won't do you any good until you change the cooling fan on/off temps.
What are you running for tires? Mine had cheap tires when I bought it. The Azenis made it a lot more fun to drive, but they won't last long on a DD.

Ya, those tires won't last long on the rear, unless it's an A4 and you baby it all the time. Do some reading in the Tires and Wheels section and decide what you want for your next set. Just keep in mind that cheap tires aren't very good, and good tires ain't cheap.

I was gonna tell him the only reason I'd do the smooth bellows was if I was gonna run a wet shot, but I have other plans.

I also have a 01 WS6. My best mods have been: Headers, ORYP, ASP under drive pulley, Vig. 3200 stall, Lid, TR 224 on a 112LSA cam, TNT 175 shot, and slicks. The WS6 is an incredible car so take care of it.

^^^ That with a set of 555rs on the back would make one hot DD setup. Pretty close to my build plan. The only reason I went with the Azenis is for better wet traction, and the Z speed rating.
