Put it in drive when staging. Stall it to the point just before your tires break loose. When leaving the tree, give it about 50% throttle. In that split second, if you feel that you are not spinning give it all it has. If it is spinning, play with the throttle until you feel you have traction. Midway through 3rd, shift into overdrive. See how that works for you.

I have a similar time and mph w/o LTs, stall and LS6 intake....you might need a better tune.

I have an 84 third gen TA with a small block and street tires. The first time i took it to the track i was running a 2.00 2.10 60 ft. i let the air pressure down to about 16psi and my 60ft times creeped down to a best of just below 1.90. now to some 16 psi seems a bit extreme for street tires but i have used a laser temp guage and have seen 6-8 psi increases after the tire is heated up in the burnout box. So if you didn't let any air out of your tires and you heated them up they could have gotten stiffer and you might be losing that little bit of bite you need to creep below a 2.00 60 ft. HOWEVER i was running a cheap azz z-rated tire on a stock 15inch rim which was not a low profile tire. low profile tires are designed with a stiffer sidewall to help control tire roll and provide stability. so with that being said taking air out of your tires might not help with a low profile tire which is what mook99TA stated earlier in the tread. do you have low profile tires?

You're DA might have been higher that day because I would have expected your trap to be 108-109 in maryland. But other then that your ET and 60' are right were I would expect them to be.

I've been drag racing for over 5 years with my LS1. I started out stock and went through all the bolt ons and eventually made it to a cam and intake. I'll tell you from my experience your stall is too small. You should have a minimum of 3600 in there.

But with that said, you will not get any better then a 2.0 60' (possibly 1.9 if all the planets are aligned) with street tires. I don't care what PSI you run and FWIW you should keep street tires at 35+ PSI even at the track. The only way you will see great gains is by switching to drag radials. Mickey Thompson 255/50R16 hook the best (I've had them all).

With M/T tires @ 20 psi and a 5-7 second smokey burnout you can cut 1.7 - 1.8 60' times. Just rev it up to 1800-2200 rpm's and mash the gas. That should get you in the 12.5 ET range pretty quick. With similair mods (except I had a 3500 stall) I ran 12.5 @ 108 all day long.

But if you go back to the track with street tires then all you can do is feather into a full throttle and try to pull off another 2.0 60'. If the weather is agreeable you might see a 12.9 slip. Either way have fun and try to beat up a few slow imports
