EGR code from exhaust leak?

I got a EGR low performance code the same night some of the studs on my y pipe snapped and I got an exhaust leak...

..any chance the two are related?

I'd say, yes, there is a chance. I wouldn't fix anyhting on the EGR until I fixed the exhaust leak. Then reset the code and see if it comes back.
