Default so im new here...

and i do not know a single thing about performance
i just got myself a 2003 Chevy Silverado Ext with a 5.3 V8 in it and i want to put money into it....
but i also want to put money on the engine but idk what to buy
so far im thinkin:

1. K&N filter(havent decied which one)
2. Long tube Headers
3. and a series 40 flowmaster exhaust

people keep telling to buy cams/heads/ and a buch of other things that i dont have idea what they mean or what they are

im thinkin on a engine swap to a ls1, does anybody know if its usuable with my truck?

well im already saving up for a motor but in the meantime i wanna add stuff to this engine that i have, but i was wondering, could i switch the heads and the cams from my current engine to the cams and heads of a ls1? what do i need?

is it something that can b done, or am i just filled with stupid info?

Yup as in anything can be done. But when is done really done??

You're MUCH better off keeping your truck as a DD and get yourself an LS1 TA between 1999-02 that will run you about 12 grand.

You'd be much farther ahead

Don't **** your $$ away on a K&N. Paper filters better and performs the same.

Everything from a 5.3 and a LS1 will interchange so a LS1 swap would be easy. I would just go bigger though and do a bored and stroked LQ4 408 if I was going to do a swap Especially in a heavyass truck. Or at least get a LQ4 stock longblock from a junkyard and plug and play. I've seen them go for $700 in good shape. Get the PCM too go along with it if you can but you can tune yours for it.
