Default Trans Am vs Trans Am WS6

does anyone know, or know where i can find the FULL list of differences between a 2002 Trans Am and a 2002 Trans Am WS6?

from looking around it seems like mostly all it is is, the Ram Air hood, the Exhaust is different but still dual and the actual ram air intake itself.....

Its also has an upgraded suspension, with bigger sway bars. The ram air is a hood and the lower air box is higher off the radiator allowing more flow.

The performance difference is negligable but in addition to the hood lower air box, suspension and sway bars dont forget 17" wheels on ws6 and 16"s on the t/a. Also the ws6 comes with a power steering cooler. But in response to your Question no i dont have the full list of differences...

Not like we need another one of these threads but heres the list

Ram Air Hood
Larger Lower Airbox (to match with the hood)
Less restrictive mufler with dual chrome 2.5" tips
32mm front swaybar (rear bar same as Formula/Trans Am 19mm)
1LE Springs (`96-early 00 only)
Power steering cooler
17x9" wheels with 275/40/17 tires
WS6 Badge

Note
All Auto equipped WS6's have the 3.23 performance gear set standard but at an extra cost (not part of the Pkg)

depends on the price difference... of which one you want to get...if it was me i would much rather go ahead nad get the regular trans am and then mod the hell out of it and be better off than the almighty * WS6*... sway bars you can get from spohn..Superhawk hood, you can get a lower air damn used from the for sale section..itd be a lot easier to just buy your trans am and mod it How YOU want it..and you can actually have a better can when you are done....i personally dont buy all the hype about the *WS6* package..but i am bias..hehehe

The power steering cooler was on many cars that were not WS6's as well. I have read that in 01 and 02 it became standard on all V-8's but I had a base Z-28 that had a cooler on it..

V12 - Cooling System, Power Steering Fluid it was a regular production option The Z-28 I had was a 02 and has V-12 in the rpo codes so it came that way from the factory.. Everything I had read through nothing mentions that the powersteering cooler was specific to the WS6..ANd I agree the cooler is pretty much useless and often times leaks..

i have a regular trans am with 3.23's and a power steering cooler. the cooler really doesn't do anything anyway from what i've read but it's there.

i couldn't afford a WS6 so i went with a base TA. i have absolutely no regrets.

i did my ssra, lid, ported tb, lt's, ory, catback, plugs, wires, dyno tune, springs, shocks, lca's, brackets, phb, 32mm swaybar, 17x9.5 zr1's, and tires, all for considerably less than the price difference would have been to go with a WS6. granted i got some pretty good deals and installed everything myself, to me all that stuff is worth more than a hood and an RPO code. hopefully i'll get a ram air hood someday, but for now i'm plenty happy with my setup.

I don't think the WS6 package adds up to being much better performance wise than the standard T/A, but it looks sooooooo awesome. The hood and wheels do make the car look a lot better, and that is coming from a regular T/A owner.

Is there a hint of Jealousy in there ? J/K

I agree appearance aside the lack of difference between the 2 in overall performance is not enough to justify the extra $3150.

I ordered mine without WS6 and never regreted it cause even in early `98 I knew the Cars were all equal.
Now I have Strano suspension a 3.5" catback 18" wheels and a Factory Ram Air hood I picked up for $250 at a swap meet. All parts that put me well beyond a factory WS6.
