Default Used Car warranties

Hey guys, my 2000 Camaro Z28 came with a used car warranty from General Electric and not the dealership. Will I void my warranty by installing headers and an exhaust? I read the fine print and it all kind of contradicts itself and I don't want to talk to them as I have had conflicts with them. (Even more of a reason to do it IMO lol)

99% of used car warranties out there have a "no modifications" clause. Warranties are VERY strict about what you can and can't to do YOUR car. If you want a definitive answer, call the number on your warranty paperwork and ask. I'd be willing to bet they'll tell you no.

it will void you warranty.

find out what the warranty covers first, what is the deductable and such. You will most likely find that the warranty is really not all that much.

Put the headers on, you won't be dissapointed.

I had a used car warranty and I was able to get away with a cat back system. But you will never get away with headers

It all depends on what is written on your contract.

If you had a GM warranty and installed GM performance parts done by a GM dealer I think you would have a good chance of NOT voiding your warranty. However, with a GE warranty I don't think you have a chance of getting something covered if you mod your car.
