It will not bolt up directly but there is an adapter for it. It is off by a bellhousing bolt ear or so.

Get the Crank Spacer off of an early 6.0l.

I'm running a 700 behind a 5.3. I used a spacer between the crank and flex plate. It's available from SDPC. I recently read that one of the aftermarket trans companies (maybe TCI) has a flex plate that doesn't need the spacer.
The bell housing bolt pattern is not an issue and those old wives tales about 700 transmissions blowing up are no longer valid. They can be made plenty strong. The only thing that one has to be really careful about is the TV cable adjustment and Bowler Transmissions has a kit to take care of that. Good luck with your project - you will like the results.
