Default New to the LS1.....

Hi folks, I am not new to the Fbody scene but new to the LS1 motor. I purchased my 1996 Z28 11 yrs ago and still have it. The car is modded to some degree and has bee na ton of fun.

I just purchased a 1999 z28 m6 that has some unknown camshaft in it. The car has longtubes, full exhaust, SLP ram air kit. Any suggestions as of yet that someone is willing to share to get me started on this thing?

Do you know if the car has a ls6 intake. If it does you won't have a egr tube/hole right behind the throttle body.

well, the car has pretty much the basic bolt-ons that most people start out with. A tune would definitely help get it going stronger

Do you have subframe connectors? You can port your throttle body, it free if you have a dremel.

The gain wont be very much right away (10-15 hp) But will start to shine with a cam or a head/cam combo where the engine realy starts to breathe. So it's a supporting mod for future power adders. Check the for sale section in this forum you can find some good deals on them when the time comes.

Speaking of ls6 intake, heads and cam, are there any packages out there worth buying? I see heads alone costing over 2400 a pair and that intake going for 800??? Also I'd definitely want to match the cam and heads if I were to go that route, any suggestions out there for a good head/cam match? Thanks,
JT

With a cam you will get more bang for your buck out of the ls6 intake.
