if you got all bolt ons like lid, headers, catback i would probably be looking at some lowering springs and rims as my next mods. i rolled with 16" snowflakes for 3 years..LOL.. i hated looking at it.

I always go for speed parts first. Then when I think my speed parts can represent the look I want I go for wheels and lowering springs. I don't want anybody to tell me my car is all show no go.

Well, for performance it looks like you still have FTRA or SSRA for $200, Ported TB $65, and LS6 Intake $350, under drive pulley $200. Maybe around 30-35ish rwhp still on the table.

For looks lowering springs and shocks.

What is FTRA and SSRA? I'm still very new to the LS1.
I plan on getting a tb, LS6 intake, and 3.73 gears soon.
I have 2.73's now.

if i was you i'd just find one already ported for sale. Got mine from a guy off this site for 60 bucks shipped, good deals are out there, just gotta find em.
Not only that but then you can also sell the stock throttle body and get some of that money back.

FTRA= fast toys ram air
SSRA= super sucker ram air
both are similar to a ram air set up ( supposed to bring cooler air to the motor)

And for the OP I vote show unlike all others. First thing I did was the CETA mod and window tint. Car already had nice wheels (ws6 chrome wheels) and best looking hood for these cars. (car is a 2001 ws6). After the two apperance mods I moved onto bolt ons: LT, ORY, catback, lid, P&P TB and ls6 intake (ls6 original with car) and finally a tune.

Why not do both in moderation? First buy some trick wheels and tires. (Looks and performance, depending on what you tires you pick.) Then you can get yourself a lid. (Performance.) Next tint the windows. (Looks.) Then maybe a catback. (Performance.) And just continue that way until you've reached your goal on one, then you can focus solely on the other.

Well, even if you were really conservative with the numbers, FTRA or SSRA around 10hp, LS6 intake, 10hp, UD Pulley 5 hp, Ported TB 5hp. That's already 30hp and those are very conservative numbers compared to the countless threads I've gone through on this site.

What else could you do with it appearance wise anyway. Wheels? Springs? Stickers? Double-decker spoiler? Oh wait, wrong forum. No, F cars were born beautiful, just like Scarlett Johansson's *****, so focus on speed...

All I would do for "show" is go for some better wheels (NOT C5 Z06'S, btw) with some good tires. Other than that, all "go".

IMO people go overboard with "show" on these car with too many decals and useless chrome bits. They all seem to look the same anyway, since everyone does nearly all the same visual mods.

OH, and IMO the FTRA isn't worth 200 bucks. I have one, and I didn't feel any SOTP improvement or get a mileage gain. Luckily I bought it used so I wasn't out 200 bucks.

IDK why you guys are saying wheels and lowering springs are all show. Even though they dont add power they add to the overall performance of the car. One thing you will learn is that you can have 2 million HP but if you cant put it to the ground a stock civic will beat you

If the car is in fair condition(no bullet holes in the windshield), its already sporty just like myk said. go with speed first, but eventually your gonna have to mod the suspension so thats when you need to play with the ride height.

There are many people whom, when they see a car exhibiting alot of bark, will go out of their way to se if it has any bite. That's why I've always gone for "go" before "show." In fact, I've never really gone for show anyways, I've always taken the sleeper approach. I put the money into wheels, tires, powertrain, and everything else responsible for getting the power to the ground. I suppose I'd rather my car be a wolf in sheep's clothing than the reverse.

gears and stall next then maybe some wheels and tires, if you want straight line i wouldnt lower the car too much id go with a traction smart suspension setup, control arms etc.
