Default LS2 6.0L aluminum block???

I considering building a 404+/- engine for my dragcar and wondered what one of these blocks can handle? From the little bit of research i've done it will need to take 1200hp. Now granted it wouldn't be on the spray every pass. Really like the weight savings of these blocks, the head design, timings, etc. enough to considering selling off all the sbc stuff.

Thanks,
John

There have been several cars I've seen pushing these blocks over 1000 RWHP. That being said, the right components need to be used along with an experienced builder setting everything up. But to answer your questions, yes these blocks can handle the power you are looking to make. Let us know if we can help with your build!

Thanks!
Jon

Flywheel is doable. To the ground, you may need a girdle and you will have issues pushing coolant if you get greedy on timing and/or RPM's.
