Default Do I need a tune after ported tb install?

I'm getting my tb ported next week. Do I need to get a tune for the ported tb? Or can the car wait till spring when I go to Speed Inc? Sure hope so.

nope. no need. id wait until you are done modding for a bit and have a good amount of mods installed before you take it in for a tune.

Thanks guys. That's good to hear. Because I'm not done modding yet. Getting a LS6 intake, gears, and a dyno tune in spring. Then the wife says we have to stick some money into our house. Boo her. j/k.

I ported my own. It acted ignorant when I first started it up. I unhooked the battery for a while and restarted it. It did ok after that.

Unless you make the blade bigger you can hack off all the material in front of it and it still isnt going to flow more air. The TB isnt going to flow more than its most restrictive point, so porting them in front of the blade, removing material thats already in a spot thats not restrictive is pointless.

It prolly won't want to idle correctly for a few minutes but that's about it.

The tune will be fine but it will have to relearn idle because of the battery being unhooked.
