Default Oil Pressure

So I got this 99 T/A WS6 and the previous owner changed out the oil pump with a LS6 oil pump he told me that it would need a new oil pressure switch to get the guage to read right.... On a cold start it sits a 40 lbs and when it warms up it will idle at a lil over 20 lbs and when Im driving its at a lil over 40.... And when I come to a stop and the oil pressure drops to 20 it has stalled out, its done this twice... Could this just be the oil pressure switch which is what he told me to change? Any info would be appreciated!!!!!

It could be. You need to get everything in working order and go from there.

I would swap the sensor and see what happens. I would look in to it soon because if its not the switch he may have pinched the pick up tube O ring when putting in the new pump.
