+1 on recalibrate for synths and the manual clearly states, turn to on position hold trip reset turn of, then start.

My "change oil light" usually doesn't come on by the time I change my oil but I'll try to wait until it does, and see if the gas pedal thing really does work but I have never heard that before.... Manual says the same thing about the trip reset for V6 and V8

I believe that the 01's and 02's change oil light comes on every 10,000 miles. The engine is supposed to be more efficient and get more life out of the oil. I still change it every 3,000 miles even though its synthetic oil.

The 01 and 02 ls1 pcm counts the cycle of the engine and when it reaches the right count it triggers the light to come on. For the guys like me that sit in there cars alot with the engine at idle your lights will come on faster its not based on milage. Mine comes on about every 3500mi. I still cahnge my oil with royal purple at 3000 because even though the oil still performs past that the oil still gets dirty and more so if you have a k&N air filter and I dont like the sound of that. Just my .02

Looks like the 01-02 cars use the gas pedal method. I have a 2000 and in the manual it states to press and hold the trip until the oil change light turns off, Key On Engine Off.

Damn guys most of us beat the p!ss out of our cars so even though we run synthetic just change the oil....For those that don't just run it an extra 1-2k or whatever you want.....
