remove the iac, it will usallly be pretty dirty and thats what can cause an erratic idle. just clean it out inside and make sure the o ring that seals it is in good condition.

sure no problem, there torx screws, dont strip them they are really tight since it has threadlock, i used brake cleaner to clean mine so you should be safe with that.
