Looking at a Cammed LS1
as for buying modded cars its hit or miss, you save a lot of money but you run the risk of buying a car that has taken a lot of abuse. all depends what you plan to do with the car.
Definately find out who put in it there, when it was done, how many miles since, etc. Also find out what push rods, timing chain, valve springs were installed. Some people dont replace the timing chain with a cam swap so dont be alarmed if it wasnt done, its just something good to ask is why I listed it.
Just drive it and think to yourself, "could I handle driving this all the time?"
Every person is different, thats why I say that. That cam is a little bigger than the one in my car but im running 11:1 compression which helps and I could DD my car if I had to.
Hope that helps man, good luck !

The thing is, you could get every person on this site that has a cammed car come in and say "oh that would be fine" or "my cam is X big and I would DD with no problem" but thats them...not you.
Its about what you can tolerate.
Putting steeper gears in it will help the driveablity, as well as how the tune is.
Have you driven it yet?
As others have said, check the maintenance history. See how many miles the springs have on them.
It is hit or miss with modded cars. I find that alot of guys with modded cars take a hell of alot better care of their cars then someone with a bone stock car.
