Hello. I am new to the boards. Dont have my own LS1 yet but soon as i get back from overseas which should be around March, i will be buying one. I was wondering what kind of mods would it take to get per say a 02 WS6 M6 to break into the high 12's. I really wouldn't want my car to be any faster then that being my budget wouldn't really let me anyway i don't think. I may be wrong, like i said i'm new to all this and really don't know how much Mods that would make it any faster then that would cost. If anyone could post some details on what the mods would be and how much it would cost. That would be sweet. Thanks.

12's aren't much of a feat for a 02 WS6 M6. Drag radials, maybe a few other small bolt ons like a lid and a catback and you will can run a high 12 second alld ay long. search around this site a bit more, there is miles of info that can help you.
with the mods i have below i have dippedinto the 12's, i haven't posted as i haven't yet been able to stay ther eon a frequent basis. I have lots of traction problems in Northern Va though. goodl uck to you, but youw ont need to much tog et a 02 ws6 to do a high 12.

I think you'll find 12's with just drag radials
Check out the link below for a thread that should get you the results cheaply. Good luck!

Your budget wont allow better than high 12's? Wait untill the bug bites you. Im flat broke just having twins and all. My wife has been off unpaid from work for 4 months and ill be dammed if my car wont run 11's this summer. I have a way to go but it will happen. You will start stashing money everywhere possible when you get bit by the MOD BUG....

Some people have run 12's bone stock even down to the paper filter, I would think you could achieve this with a lid/catback and some pretty good launching skills. The launch is the most important thing, you need to get the 60' down pat before you ever think about a good et. Good Luck

Unless you're dead-set on getting a 6-speed, get an automatic with a 3500+ stall converter and sticky tires for drag racing. They're more consistent and MUCH easier on the rear end. My car is stock with a Vig 3200 and cuts 1.85 second 60-foot times on 245/50R16 Pirelli P7000 tires. The 6-speed's with sticky tires are notorious for breaking the wimpy rearend in our cars when subjected to hard launches. Granted, you could always budget around $2k for a 12 bolt... :p

you should definately be able hit high 12s with very few mods. I did it with true duals being the only money spent on a mod. the rest of mods were the free ram air and the bottom of the air box cut out. my best was a 12.7@111 and that was with street tires so good luck..
