Could someone please list all the freemods for 98 SS and also there is a little black box mounted in the trunk on the left side. it's empty and has a sliding door, looks like a cd changer possibly. thanks

Okay, here we go again. Seeing as how no one has answered your post, I will.

TB bypass
TB bumpstop
Homeported TB
Descreened MAF
Free ram air
!EGR
!AIR
Ram Air !air deflector(for the TA guys)
The search feature is very helpful, and instructions for these can be found there or ls1howto.com and installuniversity.com, just to name a few.
Fellas, did I miss any???

Yeah, that's your indestructable E.T. recorder. Just flip the switch located in the ashtray before you run your car at the track. In the event you FUBAR your car resulting in a total loss, the black box will still have your last record of your R/T, 60', 330', 660', 1000', and 1/4 mile.
Just messing with you man, I have no idea. Maybe it IS cd changer, consider youself lucky, I didn't get one.

1)yes, it probably is a disk changer.
2)LS1.com also has a few "free mod" write ups (ill catch hell mentioning that site in here) in case u can't work the "search" function on this site.
BTW:SERIOUSLY consider ur chances by screwing with ur MAF. do a search on this as well. very low success ratio, i do not recommend. enjoy.

That sounds like the disc changer, but the magazine must be missing?
If you slide the door open it should eject a magazine.
You can order one & see if it works?

That little black box is just another way they're controlling us.....rip it out and revolt!!!!

Ok, just kidding....sounds like a CD changer.

A buddy of mine has a '98 T/A. I know it's not an SS, but the mods will be the same for the most part....here's a link to his car:
