Sweet spot for 4.10s
I have tried a search and no luck, and not sure if this is the right section but some guy is wanting to run me and he wants 45 roll, because he says its his sweet spot. And asked what I want.
So whats the sweet spot for my car, I never can tell, its full bolt ons, 224 cam, and 4.10s. Is there a sweet spot (by this I mean best place to go for a roll race)??

I mean...just get in first gear and take it up to 4000/4500 rpm and see what speed you're at. That's what I usually pin it from when I'm doing a roll race. Goes like a bat out of hell at that high RPM. That's right around 40 for me.

Automatic or 6-speed?
Bunch of variables play into where your car's "sweet spot" is. For a race with a buddy, I'd think your sweet spot would be any point at which the factors fit your setup more favorably than his. i.e. if you have a stalled auto and a good tire and he's running a 6-speed, you'll probably want to go from a dig -- try to win an otherwise evenly matched race with the launch.
If you can get traction in 1st gear, might as well start at a slow roll...you have a good mid-range cam and the gear to support starting off down low.
At the end of the day, just get comfortable driving your car and have a good idea of the points that DON'T work well for you (points where you're right at the top of one gear or the bottom of the next -- try to stay away from those) and you should be great.

Did you get your car dyno tuned?? If so go take a look at your dyno chart and see where your power really hits. That will tell you where in the rpm band it hits best and you want to be near there. I'd figure a 45 would be good for you, my car likes that. 1st gear i get no traction

I have 3.90 ratio and a 45 is a great spot for me in second. First is useless for me on my street tires at any speed. Even if I could get traction anything above 20 in 1st is worthless because the shift comes pretty much instantly. OP get him from 45 that should be good for u with 410s. But if he is stock geared and goes from 45 in first with some sticky rubber you may be in trouble. Just my .02

Because I raced a car from 30-120 he was in 1st gear I was in 2nd. He took the hit and beat me by 3/4 car. He is a stock gearing f body. The next weekend we ran the same race I was in 1st this time also and I had my bfg dr's on. I beat him by 1 1/2 this time. Hope this helps you understand a little better. Good luck with the race.
