id start off with a good catback exhaust, a lid and filter combo and a fast toys or super sucker ram air kit. Add in some drag radials to get the power to the ground. then i'd go with a shifter. (most of the guys i know like the pro 5.0)
A dyno should run about 75-125 bucks for usually wither 2 or 3 pulls depending on the shop. happy modding and welcome to the world of LS1s!

Warranty limitations are grey zone. Depends on how well you know your service manager/advisor.
That aside... get a hi-flow lid ($100), an exhaust cutout ($30 + $30 install), some Nitto 555 Drag Radials (less than $300) and you're set for some decent et's at the drag strip.
Eventually, step up to Long Tube headers, an aftermarket Camshaft/ Heads, 4.10 gears, etc.....
The possible combinations are endless.
For express plan B, see the nitrous section of this forum.

They have given you some good advice I will look past the fact that you are an Army dog
Like said above:
Lid - I would go with the TEXAS SPEED INC that seems to be one of the most popular -------->
Catback - Any one of these... since they are good flowing systems: GMMG, Borla, Magnaflow or B+B Tri-flo... it is really all in the sound and look that you want. Here is a link for sound clips that one of the members has made up Exhaust sounds

How Could You Not Notice The Caps In His Post? lol
Welcome to the site and good luck modding your car, man. I need to take the same advice as my car is still stock. I did the free ram air thing, but the difference was barely noticeable, if at all. I also did the skip shift delete. That was great. Easy too.

Welcome to the board!
This is a great place to get info on our cars. Not too many mods will keep you from voiding your warranty. Best bet is to check with your dealer. Ask about the Hotcam, I think that might be an item that will net you some HP as well as be warranty friendly. But you may not see all the HP possible without some LT's. And LT's might void your warranty. Lid, exhaust, cutout, DR's, and you should be happy.
DEEZ98Z, you must be a Marine. They lack attention to details, among other things.

I'd have to say I tried a cutout and didnt like it very much in terms of losing some low end power and overall sound. I got rid of it. I went with the loudmouth and larger y-pipe and LOVE the sound it makes. def a little on th lound side but I like it. A better airbox would do some good and skip shift eliminator (a must).

Have any of guys had any issues completely sealing your ram air and using it in heavy rain? I just removed my second baffle and was done with it... I figure most of the benefit comes from the engine receiving cold air, but the pressure effect is minimal at best..
