I don't think so. I mean you can theoretically import anything, but I don't know of anyone who has one. I'd like one of those AWD LS1's though (monaro maybe?)!

I'm not expert on the matter, but I thiink you might have trouble.
For one, Holdens are right hand drive. You might have to have it converted. Also, I don't think their bumbers meet US safety standards. Look at the GTO. The front fascia had to be redesigned to meet strick US crash tests.
Besides, if it wasn't that difficult to import, you'd probably see a few on the street since they aren't ridiculously expensive. Not trying to shoot you down...just going on my observations. Hopefully I'm wrong, and someone can tell me where I can get one.

Cali emissions, not positive but I think they use leaded gas.
As said safety not up to standards and right hand drive.
GMHTP had a nice write up on the Holden models about
2 years ago and said why they weren't here, sorry its been awhile

Another reason is since they're like low 20's all LS1's
with available M6, I think it would really hurt other sales.

I believe what I've seen is it's possible, but it costs more than the car does in the first place. It's something like a 'show-car' tag that gets put on the car, so there are limitations on when / where you can drive it. That's what makes Fast and Furious 2 so goofy - like there's gonna be a Skyline GS-R just sitting in some dealership in the middle of nowhere.

There are importers that do conversions on those vehicles (but more often cars like the Skyline), it costs a pretty penny, but the cars are road legal. There are actually a bunch of older Mitsu Evolutions, WRX's, Skyline GTRs, and so on running around the US...

Yep, you can have it imported, but you will have to pay import taxes, and conversion fees. Many servicemembers stationed abroad have brought back foreign spec vehicles and have paid to have them converted at their own expense.. It's not a bad idea if you want something rare!
