as far as someone with a hypertech, they cant do it....hypertech tuning can only be used on one car at a time. the programmer registers VIN info and locks out all tuning options on a different vin unless the kast vehicle was brought completely back to stock first....its impossible to have tuning in 2 cars at the same time with one unit....you need to find someone with LS1 edit. im not sure if a predator is like the hypertech or not so i couldnt say on that one....IMO your best bet is to grab a used hypertech off Ebay or something, they go for like a hundred bucks or so usually.

I thought the speed limiter was like 162 or 165 or something. I've gone well over 118 with no computer tuning.

if your car came with the zrated rubber you have the 162 limit
if your car came with the shitty 235's then you have an 118 limit

Is this unique to Camaros? I have a 98 TA with the 235s and have been up to around 140. I'm the second owner, bought it with 14k miles, so it's possible whoever owned it first did something, but I thought it was bone stock. I'll have to get it dynoed.

most likely the previous owner removed the limiter. if you have still have the 235's on the car then your a dumbass for exceeding the speed limit of your tires.

The tires are the 4 rubber things on the bottom right? I'll have to go look at them again and see if they are in fact the 235s. I never even considered the possibility the car would go faster than it was safely capable. (The dealer told me everything was stock). The reason I think I have 235s is because I vaguely remember reading the sidewall.

check the door code, its should say what tires came with the car as oem equipment. i bought my car used and it came with 245 z rated tires but has the limiter and the door code says it came with oem 235's.

I checked, it says my car came with the 245 z rated tires. That sucks. How much is it going to cost to replace the tires with Z rated ones? I'm too poor right now to encounter this setback. Dammit, so much for a hood.

245/50/Zr16 is what you have .

the reason mine has the limiter is it came with OEM 235's and the previous owner put on the z rated tires but never removed the limiter.

Yeah, but my tires are definetely 235s, which mean the previous owner screwed me over. Even though I bought it from a dealership.

so your door code says it came with the 245's but you have 235's on the car right now , that sucks.
