Buying the slp lm1's they really sound like **** all it is is raspy and loud there isn't much tone behind it at all plus now im stepping up to LT's and an ORY i cant possibly use the LM1's. Also they leak constantly with the clamps i have to tightn it once a month minimaly to stop the leak im moving over to some flowmasters or maybe even going to GMMG or True Duals

Spending roughly 13k on a 98 ta, and modding it, fixing issues with it, etc, then selling it for a pos car while deciding to move out for a year. Then the pos car was nothing but trouble while I was living on my own.

I am now back in another ta, almost paid off, and a lot happier. I could of saved so much money if I would of kept my old ta. 6 months after I sold it, I was informed it was wrapped around a tree, so that didnt help.

Probably not newb mistakes, more like dumbass mistakes. But thats the past

Having a hard time picking a "direction". I have wasted countless dollars, and many hours going back and forth with mods. My car has seen 3 different y/Cat-Back setups, and Two True Dual set-ups, not to mention doing an M6 swap and then back to an A4...My advice to any newbie is to take their time, and be brutally honest about what the car is, and will be.

Well its not a true mistake if you bought it for the re-usable and eco friendly feature of it. But if you bought it for a power mod.... its a mistake. More than one person has dyno tested the K+N or Holley and there are no gains at all. The Fram paper cant be beat. Plus the oil that people use to much of and dont let dry properly get's on the MAF and screws it up. End's up being more of a hassle than it was worth for some people. anyway.. that the "thing" about the k+n/ Holley..LOL

and hell, would it make any of you guys feel better if you knew i dumped about 4-5k worth of performance parts into a 1997 3.8 liter camaro? and only to run a best of 14.7!?!?! WHAT THE HELL WAS I ON, RIGHT?!?!?

and it's no joke either. fortunately, i told myself i'd be different with the ls1 in many aspects, like:

a. wouldn't mod nearly as much, especially not the performance, because...

b. it's a hell of a lot faster than my old 14.7 second v6!

so far i have done a cutout ($40), a lid ($35), a short stick (free), sfc ($100), and a drop ($400 total). i feel i'm doing pretty good thus far.

thanks to you guys i'm not ever tackling any of those silly damn free mods either!
i feel stupid asking this but...what's a cutout?
