Gonna do that myself, wondering if Bug Off would be a good option for removal... My luck it would somehow make it worse

For glue removal I would try things like:

- 3M Adhesive remover
- Paint prep grease/wax remover
....and if all else fails.... - Brake parts cleaner (get the chlorinated/standard kind, it's strong stuff, the non-chlorinated is crap IMO).

If you really want to keep the cost down, then just buy the ebay motor. Its around 20 bucks and that includes shipping. 20 bux aint nothin lol
