Solid Motor Mounts or Poly
Cant fricken decide on Solid or Poly MM.The Spohn solid mounts look nice and the feedback on them seems good.I need new trans mounts as well and Spohn recommends using Poly Trans mounts if using Solid MM, but I hear and read of a lot of vibration issues with the Poly Trans mounts.
Gotta get the SLP back on the road.Any feedback would be appreciated.

Solids = you feel every vibration from the engine
Poly - forgiving but stiffer than OEM (correct me if I'm wrong)
For a daily driver / weekend warrior I'd go poly for sure. If you care less about comfort go with the solids.

I feel very little vibration from the engine. Usually only feel it if your RPMs drop too low. If I had to do it again, I'd stick with the Spohn solids. I have no regrets.
The only thing bothering me about my new setup is resonance from the exhaust, makes my ears hurt after driving for awhile. Hopefully the 30" sweet thunders I have coming will reduce that

i'm running solids in my car and sure they are noticeable at idle but it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be, and as for the install it's a little tricky getting them lined up but absolutely something you can do yourself. One suggestion i would make though, whichever route you do go if you plan on getting headers in the future you should do both at the same time.

Once again the only thing bothering us was the exhaust. Our ears weren't really ringing, but they were like numb feeling when we got home.

Thanks again...A lot of people say go stock rubber mounts for the trans, since they r so easy to replace. Spohn recommends using the poly trans mount if using solid MM... but that could also be just to get a little more $$$

Why are you changing them exactly?
You can replace just the drivers side mount with poly if you'd like to limit movement and keep vibration down.
I used a poly trans mount and NEVER had an issue with it. A little bit of grinding to match up heights..
No thanks to solid mounts on a driver. That's just my personal feeling.

Have you ever driven in one though? Not just any car, but specifically an LS1 F-body with Spohn Solids. I find them barely noticeable. I gave my sister's husband a joy ride tonight and he said he wouldn't have been able to tell I had solid mounts if I hadn't told him.

From what I've noticed, most people that say they wouldn't drive solid motor mounts and are completely against them are people that usually don't have personal experience with them and are going by word of mouth from other people that don't have experience with them.
I daily drive my car with solid motor mounts and I love it!
