Default Difference between LS2 and LS6 Intake manifolds?

Since the 01 and 02 fbody's came with the ls2, do people also refer to the ls6 intake manifold as the ls2 intake manifold?

What? No f-body ever came with an LS2. The 01/02 cars came with LS6 blocks and intakes, not LS2 stuff.

Yeah im not even sure 01-02 f-bodys come with ls6 blocks.....the only thing ls6 on them is the intake manifolds. Not sure on the difference of port or HP between the LS6 and LS2 intake manifolds thought. Probably not much the LS6 flows pretty well.

Let's all make an effort to STOP the flow of false info!

'01-'02 cars ALL came with an LS6 intake.

Some (NOT all) '01-'02 cars came with an LS6 block.

All '01-'02 cars came with LS1 heads (241 casting number).

Final answer.

Why did some come with ls6 blocks? Special order? or just random?

Just so you know the block doesn't make any more power, and it's arguable that it's better at all, just different.

This is the sort of bad info that we need to STOP spreading.

No F-body came originally from the factory with 243 castings.

Not to be disrespectful, but the only way I would beleive this was stock is if I saw the cars new on dealer lots or knew the original owners personally.

Nope. Never happened from the factory. Listen to the other gurus who have already stated the same thing.

You were in fact lied to or they didn't know what they were talking about.
