This unfortunately is a normal occurance.

BTW unless the LS2 intake has been ported the LS6 is still better.

Nope never 243's on a stock LS1..Although ..the only thing i could think of.. possibly someone had a TOTAL engine mishap and the dealer warrantied an incident lets say a 02 owner has an total engine fubor in 05..it ended up w/a LS6 block that had 243's..and I MEAN MAYBE!! only cuz Maybe GM had no more LS1's?..Something to think about..MY 02..

BTW a LS6 Intake is bettter than an LS2 intake as far as flow..theres a couple threads on here..

Didn't know that there were some LS1s that came with LS6 blocks... Knew about the LS6 intake mani, but not the block. The 243 heads is definitely something I never heard of on an LS1... Stock, that is.

I've never seen any solid proof of 243s ever coming stock on any LS1 engine. It just didn't happen.

If you have a aluminum block its a LS6.... I'm KIDDING!!!!! This is not true. You need to find the casting numbers and check it out.

LS2 will give u a few(if that) hp over stock in the upper rpms...plus its not a direct swap...imo not worth the time and effort.

LS2 intakes have FBW throttle bodies as well...could you put an LS1/LS6 throttle body on an LS2 intake?
