Default T56 swap

I want to swap from my automatic to manual. I don't go to the track and my last z28 had it and I miss it. So can I get some help and tell me all the info I need to know. Also can I put a T56 out of a corvette into my 2000 T/A WS6. Need to know what all to get and what to do.

check out the parts for sale section....there is usually a 6-speed swap kit somewhere in there...just comes with all of the parts from the m6 car to swap over.

yes....but you need an fbody tailhousing, mid-plate, bellhousing, shift linkage, and a new mainshaft......so pretty much only if it needs rebuilt anyway....it's definitely a better transmission to have though.

I can pick one up for 300 bucks. I didn't know if that is a good buy or not. With all that other parts I need.

A Vette one will have to be tore down and rebuilt to use.
Look for a F-body or GTO one..

For $300 I'd say go for it. Just understand that you're going to spend up to about $1200 converting it so that it will work. I just paid $1400 for an F-body m6 though so you'd be right on and have better syncros if you did go with it.

I'd buy the vette trans for $300 and sell it for $800 - $1000 to help pay for an f body trans.
