Rpm's rise a little with a/c on
#2
It should raise the idle 100-200 rpms when you engage the a/c. The engine needs more power to run the compressor.
What is substantial to you? The way you put it, makes it seem like when you turn he a/c on, its going from 600-800rpm idle to 2500 rpm.
