Now see, I love that sound. Not the cackly crap from glasspacks, and the camaro with the flat tips is the only vehicle that makes it sound good, but man I love that.
My 68 is stock manifolds, then true dual 2.75" pipe to twin magnaflows, then to magnaflow's stainless steel flat tips. Sounds good when you get down on it, but i dunno, really liking that LM1 and LM2 muffler. nice throaty roar and a little flap, flap.
There ya are sir!

LS1 SS:
vs
LT1 SS:
You can see how the LS1 draws air from below, but it sits higher than a Z28's would. On the LT1, the intake tract bends so air can be drawn from the hood scoop. Best case for the LS1, underneath the hood is a little cooler, but it definitely DOES NOT ram air into the engine itself.
LT1 SS= true ram air
LS1 SS= fake ram air (for marketing purposes)

tu'che sir thanks for clarifying that. I'd never seen the LT setup. The SS is more of a CAI then a Ram-Air by far compared to the LT.
Also,
I looked at that stainless lid on ebay... not only is it not necessary, its expensive, and tacky looking. And it's the same form as the SLP lid, for half the price, just get the plastic SLP lid.
