Default Looking for next mod

I have a 02 Z with slp lid LM exhaust and the free ram air mod. Just was wondering what next should I go for just for a little bit more speed. I just want one more thing on the engine before I get some bigger rims a and tires. Can someone list the bolt on's that may be a possibility for under 400

What tranny do you have? If an A4 go with a 3500 or more TQ converter. FTRA or SSRA is also a good mod.

what he said.

but i'd save up a few more dollars and get some LT's. pacesetters and edlebrock both come in at under 400 dollars. then you just need the Y.

Default I'd do...

1. FTRA---I don't have one but it's a great mod
2. ported TB---You can do it yourself if you have the tools
3. Jarrod Short Stick (if your M6)---no power, but it's makes shifting 100% better
4. Subframe Connectors---again, no power but stiffens the chassis greatly. Should be first mod done to these cars along with the lid.

Now all these are probably close to or a little over $400. Good luck!

I was looking for some things that would make a little bit more power rather then suspension or shifting. After this one ill be upgrading the rims tires and going for suspension then I just want something that will give me just that little edge.

I understand. The FTRA will give you better throttle response and will make it pull harder, especially on the highway. The ported TB would contribute to the over all intake package as well. But I would highly recommend the SFC's. Night and day difference in the chassis. They will reduce body flex which overtime will knock your door jambs and hatch out of wack. Just one more, the Jarrod Short Stick is only $25!!

How hard are subframe connectors to install with normal hand tools only? Is that a DIY job? I'm in about the same boat but along with cost i'm looking for things that aren't mechanically too complicated to do myself. Also, is there a good how to for porting my own throttle body?

It depends on the SFC's you get. They make bolt on and weld on ones. Either way your probably going to need a lift. You can take the weld on ones to a Meineke or local muffler shop and they can weld them on for you no problem and probably not too $$$ either.
Maybe someone can help you out with the "how to" for porting the TB. I got mine from Cartek because I'm too lazy to do it. i don't believe it's all that hard though. Anyone???

QTP cut-out... you would love it.
TB bypass... a good free mod.
Ported TB... very cheap to do yourself.
UD pulleys... dont have one but there cheap.

but if you really want to feal a power increase...(seat of the pants) get some long tubes..(any brand) and you will not be sorry. you'll have to pony up a few more bucks but you'll get for fun from them than wheels and tires....
just my opinion.
