Default Painted LS1 block?

In an effort to make it look more era-correct in my '73 Camaro, I was thinking about painting my LS1 block and valve covers orange. I've seen Gen III motors orange before, but just the iron ones, and the searches turn up nothing. Is it alright to paint aluminum blocks? Or does that affect the heat dissipation qualities in a significant way?

The heat that matters, goes out through the radiator.
Not like there's worthwhile convection in a crammed
4th gen engine bay anyway. If you're really worried
about sustained high power operation you can add an
oil cooler.
