LS3 vs LQ4

I was recently reading a article in Engine Masters magazine about a LS3 motor that AFR built. And the results were pretty good. My question is if I were to perform the same modifications(heads, intake, cam etc.) with a LQ4 motor would I reach the same numbers or close to it? Can a truck motor make the same numbers as a car motor? I was looking at using a LQ4 motor because of the cost versus other LS motors. Any advice would help thanks.

I am NO Expert, I'm a seeker like you.
I read this site's post alot as well as LS magazine articles.
I have heard the Truck engines are great but the stock intake isn't.
I have heard the LQ4 & LQ9 engines are great performers.
Good Luck on your project.
