Default longtubes and california

is there anyways to run long tubes and still pass california smog laws?

not legally. you'd have to look for the proverbial "hook up" which can cost a few bills if you don't know the guy personally. best bet if you want to run long tubes is keep your stock exhaust and swap it out whenever you have to get your smog check done.

no way to run long tubes in california legally because they change the location of the catalytic converters. either get the "hookup" or swap parts every 2 years

im not sure but the guy i bought my car from had LPP long tunes with the V banded y pipe ... he had the cats put in with a hooker exhaust and it passed smog or whatever the hell them jibbies do

you can put the legal exhaust back to pass inspection.

Short Answer- NO

Long Answer- Buy them, Install them, Retain ALL the old stuff and swap back when needed. Hopefully you wont get nailed for not have CARB #'s I do not know the penalties for not having a correct system but you gotta be able to handle fines or whatever else they can throw your way. Also if you do this make sure your Db level is low as with Off Road Y Pipes and Baffled Mufflers that is often a red flag to guys trying to nail you.

Or if you're lucky, you get shops like the one I go to where the physical inspection is a joke. Is the engine in the car? PASS...
