Default LS3 into 2001 Camaro

What do I need to convert my LS1 Camaro to the LS3? What problems will I run into?

You guys should learn to use the search function, chances are you question has been answer MANY times over already. And read the stickies in each section, you would have found this: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...02-f-body.html

I'm not going to bag on you for asking a question. I don't know what peoples deal with that lately when they could just answer it.

Just solve the reluctor problem with a conversion box or change reluctors back to a 24X in the LS3 and make sure you set it up with a cable style throttle body. Other than that, it will pretty much go right in. There's a couple extension harnesses you will need for the knock sensors and cam sensor extension harness to move the cam sensor to the front cover. The block dimensions are the same and it will pretty much drop right in.

I think lingenfelter sells a conversion kit.it mite be cheaper and easier to swap the reluctors wheel .

Just showing them that the answers to the questions they would like to ask are just a few clicks away, and they do not have to wait for an answer. If everyone is going to ignore the stickies, we might as well unsticky them. May have come off a bit harsh, but it was for their own help so they can get answers on their own without the wait. A site with this much history will have an answer to most things.

Why bother having an archive if everyone is just going to reask the question anyways?

The point is, a simple search would have resulted in the thread I posted. There are plenty of topics that can be posted and asked, but you should always search first. If you cannot find it, feel free to ask.

From now on everytime someone has a question we will just send you a pm to find out if we can post it first, since you seem to be so serious about it.

Quit being so dramatic. I am simply saying they should search first, ask second.

We have the conversion box if you leave the 58X relcutor in the motor as well as all the conversion pieces if you change them. We sell EVERYTHING you need for the swap.

Using the ligenfelter box it is around 600-700 bucks to do the conversion as long as I'm not missing anything.

Jon, is it cheaper to use the conversion box or actually change it. I don't want to be stranded while cruising one friday night.

Swapping reluctors on the crank is about $125 for us to do it. It just depends how much you are paying labor to pull it apart. You have to get another timing chain for the 1x upper gear. They are about $100. The Harness kit for the knock sensors and cam sensor extension is about $55.

If you go with the box from us it is $289.99. You'd still need the harnesses though.
