Default MAC L/T Headers?

Hi all,

Going to be putting long tubes on my 02 WS6 since I have to put a clutch in. Car has a magnaflow cat back and a lid, M6, 140 000kms (86k mi)

Anyone had experience with MAC? I've heard lots of mustang guys using them but not f-body guys. Here is the description from ebay. They are on there for $589.00. I do realize I need a tune after this install as well:

You are purchasing LS1 True Fit Mid Lenght Industrial Chrome Headers System with aluminized steel (silver) off road Y pipe for long life. They fit 98-02 camaro & Trans Am. The headers are heavy 16ga 1 3/4" tubing and have laser cut flanges to ensure proper seal, and include our True Fit design which eliminates gaskets at the collectors. All Y pipes are high grade aluminized steel 2.5" at the Y, 3" at the collector and out to tail. This system make one hell of a diff. in HP and TORQUE 40hp & 40-50 in torque, you will not be let down. All necessary hardware is included, and emission controls retained. These headers are the longest you want to put on these cars, and the way the headers and Y come together make the headers long tubes, and the headers are equal lenght also.

MAC P/N: TF4420

Thanks in advance

id go with LTs. what you posted indicates mid length headers.

id look into ARH or KOOKS though most will recommend pacesetter.

MACs are mid-length headers and I've used them before. They are quality pieces that fit well, easy install, have good clearance and make good power. MAC cats are total garbage, tho...

Unless you get the MACs for a really good price, there is no reason not to just go with long-tubes. You will gain a lot of TQ over the mids...

There mids...I have them on my car w/ a mutant y/cats, because like previously mentioned theres suck. Most guys try to get the most outta there setup so they just run LT's but mine were on already...and for the small amount of hp id pickup from swapping LT's it wasnt worth it to me.

The Macs are a decent header. I found that the Pace Setters or the Edelbrocks that I have now were easier to put on the car. For a mild build the Macs will give you about the same top end HP as the LT's. If you upgrade later you will wnt to change the macs out. Do it once and be done with it.

TSP makes a long tube that looks good for the money.
