Default Header decision- name brand or ebay ones

Hi everyone, I am trying to decide which Longtube headers to go with for my 02 35th ss 6-speed. Right now i have the dynomax bullitt exhaust from the manifolds back, part no. 88020, the pipes are 2.5 inch coming off manifolds, into ypipe which is 2.75inch. I see on ebay there is an off brand of headers for $185 Im sure they probly are Foreign origin, i'm curious if anyone has used these and how they well they installed, and or any issues. I would think either one would flow as good as the other.
Thanks for any input guys,
Gregg

All depends on what you wanna spend, stainless and non stainless...power wise most LT's are identical, and theres a lot out there for the LS...If I was to do it again Id probably go ebay or pacesetter all the way...as far as fitment I heard its pretty much hit or miss...

Plenty of info on this site about ebay headers. Many members have had good luck with them.

From what ive seen you are payig less for a bit more of a headache with fitment. I personally would spend an extra two hundred or whatever for some pacesetters that are painted and slide them right in.

I got my Pacesetters from a sponsor here for $270 (painted). I've heard some people have fitment issues with ebay headers, but I mine literally slid right into place.

If you want a great fitment and not hassles installing it i would go with BBK they are really really GOOD. no headaches sliding them in. and it comes with the offroad y-pipe, they come in chrome and coated.

http://texas-speed.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=976&catid=8 cant beat this deal for headers and y-pipe. Ive also heard a lot of good things regarding fitment on the bbk headers which are also around 380 with the y-pipe at the ws6store.

Ebay headers are not that bad imo. I have Speed Daddys on my GTP and think there awsome. They front bank wasnt to bad getting in... the bank by the fire wall however is a pita. Had to have the o2 bung welded in a different position because it wasnt goin in where they had it. I cant lower the car either cause the downpipe hangs so freakin low now, but hey this is the joy of modding. Live and learn

But Im not cuttin any corners on my TA. When I start modding it its not gettin the cheap parts cause I like it better than my GTP lol

Yeah the more you mod the more you will find this out. However, some things you can get away with but most times there's a trade off. As far as the ebay headers, i would do them they seem fine to me imo

You would think wrong there Gregg. Don't get in a hurry, do some research.

Good Luck.

x2, I would pay a little more for pacesetters which are proven to fit good and perform before I try and cut corners with a off e bay brand. And I love when people say "e bay headers" there are more then one brand that sells on e bay without a little more details its hard to say for sure.

I've had great luck with my "ebay" headers. I know basically nothing about headers as far as welding and such goes but the guy who did my exhaust said he was very impressed with the quality of the headers. Fitment may have been less than desirable but the extra twisting was worth $300 - 600 easily. It was maybe an extra couple hours, and the fitment may have been much easier if I had replaced my motor mounts.

Just get Pacesetters and be done with it. until you decide to go with a bigger motor they will be just fine and are cheap. I'm just barely replaceing my Pacesetter 1 3/4's for a set of TSP 1 7/8's in hopes of getting some more power.
