well i finally pulled the trigger on ordering some parts for my first Fbody build.
heres the list so far
UMI: PHB and relocation kit
UMI: LCAs w/ relocation brackets
UMI: TA with crossmember relocation
UMI: SF conectors
P/P TB w/coolant bypass from Tim at proformanceTBs
Volant CAI
Prothane motor and trans mounts
Strange adj. shocks and 300lbs front springs, stock variable rate rear springs

I still need to order my stall, 3.73gears, LS6 intake, headers, exhaust, and a cam but i dont have a freakn clue which one to get. O and cant forget wheels and tires

Thanks to LS1tech and everyone who has given me there .02 over the last couple months

any advice on cam options would be very helpful and much apperciated

do cam last. Get your stall, headers, ls6 intake in that orders IMO. then go for you cam. I am going for t.2 from texas speed.

Cam depends on what your goal is. The Texas Speed 228R is a popular cam on this site. Good power (40rwhp on average), and good driveability for a DD. Only $700 for cam, springs, and rods. Throw in an LS2 timing chain and ported LS6 oil pump as well.

dont see the point in maken a bunch of power and not being able to put it to the ground. that and ive been having trouble deciding on a cam and finding an ls6 intake. so i went ahead and ordered the suspension parts that were on my to do list

Motor mounts were a great mod, do it and buy some BBK headers/Y pipe for like 380 bucks shipped.

Lots of guys on here hate the tranny mount cause it vibrates so much.

I can't help you on cams, but TSP's cams seem to be popular, or a custom cam from EPS (Geoff) seems to be a good route as well. Also, for your stall I went 2800 when I got mine and want to kick myself in the teeth right now. I will be getting a 3600 since the cam I plan to get will be a 234/246 ish @ .050. Just have an overall goal of what you want to do and how you want your car to perform that way you don't have to keep rebuying parts to replace other parts you all ready bought.... Nice set up so far though man and the car looks pretty nice as well

Your cam selection depends on what your goal is with the car. is it your DD? How often will it see the track? If it is street driven, how aggressive do you wanna get? Do you ever plan on doing heads? Let us know

no its not a DD its gonna be a weekend driver and track car. i dont have a clue when it comes to picking out heads and cam package. i talked to a local speed shop friday but they were pretty unhelpful. figured id put a call into texas speed and see what advise they have on the subject.

im planning on having it painted satin black with gloss black CCW LM5 wheels

Everywhere I'm looking it's closer to $500. What price are you referencing?
