Default SES codes

So i took my car to autozone today to get the codes scanned. The guy was an *** and wouldnt let me see the scanner to write down the code numbers or anything. But he told me there were 4 codes and they were random cylinder misfire, Air / Fuel, Bank 1 Sensor 1, and Bank 1 Sensor 2. Just looking for advice on if 1 thing can cause all these problems or if i prolly need to replace both O2s and plugs/wires. Also is Bank 1 the drivers side of engine?

Don't spend your time guessing. Take it to another AZ or O'Reilly's or whatever auto parts store and get the actual codes. Even if you have to pay a couple of bucks, it's better than guessing and buying parts or fixing things that you don't need.

You may be Guessing in the right direction... but your doing jus that Guessin. I agree with the previous post, take it to a different Autozone, or maybe even same jus make that same jerk doesn't and tell them you need the codes

I'm with these guys. There is no reason to stab at the dark. Hell, most of the time fixing a problem is just an educated guess, but in order to do that you need all the information that is available to you.

One of the best investments I ever made was spending $90 at Walmart for an OBDII Scanner. I purchased one that not only reads codes, but gives a "Freeze Frame" of what was happening when the code was recorded and it can also clear codes. I've found it to be invaluable.

No more dealing with the "Experts" from Autozone for me.

I would go back to the same store and talk to the manager and tell him what happened, and ask him how you are suppose to fix your car and buy the parts from him if you don't know the codes.

At the end of the day the guy who scanned your car is a parts salesman, not a mechanic, he has no business diagnosing your car. And its completely unacceptable for him not to give you the codes. I worked at Advanced for 5 years and ALWAYS gave the codes to the customer, thats the whole point of the service, NOT to diagnose your car for you

just 1 or both though? seems odd that both would go at same time. Or what it means that 1 is low voltage and the other is high voltage.

Yea, its a stock 99 T/A WS6. We just put some 241 heads on it because one of the stock 853s were cracked.

The front sensor can fail and cause the bad one to read like it is bad. To know for sure you need to watch the voltage on them

I don't have access to a scan tool other then autozone or oreillys. Guess i will just start by replacing the front O2 and then just do the back one if its code comes back.

to me sounds like you might have 2 issues... hard to tell with out looking at the car, but the missfire could cause the 02 sensor readings to be off.. if i were you i would replace the front o2 sensor, cause the low voltage code to me red flags that sensor as bad.. unplug the battery for 10 mins or so to get the ses light off.. drive it untill the ses light comes back on (if it even does come back on) and then go get it scanned again... its hard to fix cars with out a scan tool! but to me thats the best way to get goin.
