Default 862 heads

I just got 3 truck motors for free 2 have the 706 castech heads and 1 has the 862 heads. I am planing to build a 5.3 bored to a 5.7 with a hot cam and ls6 valve springs. But i noticed the signs of coolant mixing with oil in my 862 head. I got the engines from the local dealer cause they wanted them gone. I know to stay away from the 706 casting but was concerned about the evidence of coolant in the 862 are these known for problems also? Maybe it's a bad head gasket problem with that particular motor. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks.

So I just got the front engine cover off today the one behind the crank and I found more milkey sludge from coolant in the oil. Does this sond like a cracked head or a bad head gasket?

Could be either. Pull the heads off and inspect the gasket. You can see places on a blown gasket where they push water typically. You can also have a local machine shop probably pressure check the heads to see if they are cracked.
