What to upgrade my 99 z28
Ok I have a 99 z28 that's auto pretty much stock aside from a lid It's my daily drive I want to do some work to it but don't know where to start I live in Cali so it will have to be smog legal I was thinking heads and cam I have a flexible budget anywhere from 3-5k any suggestions vest bang for my buck oh and I have 120k on the motor if it matters iv done all services oil plugs all That

you could do a heads and emission friendly cam with some shorty headers. There was an article in GMHTP magazine few months back on this. The car had to pass emissions in all states. It's possible with the correct setup. Might want to ask around with the vendors on the right>>>>btw 120 on the motor is not real high but just be careful before you drop all that money in it. good luck!

So there are smogable heads and cams but is that the best thing to start with or should I go another route first im looking to make maybe 400-450 what should I do to reach those #s and thanks for the reply

Im ordering SFC but I hear rearend gears dont help out much on an auto but I am looking into suspension any thoughts on suspension or more possible combos

I run pacesetters and really like them. Cheap, and do the trick. You are going to have some issues with any exhaust that you put on since you live in Cali. If you've never installed headers on one of these cars, then I would suggest that you pay someone to do it.

Yea I think Thts beat cuz it doesn't look like there's alot of run to play in wht bout cutouts wouldn't Tht emlimante the need for exhaust after the headers?

Mybad my phone auto typed Tht lol I said I think it is best Tht I do have someone install them rather then me but after headers wht do I get cat back? Or can I just get cutouts instead
