Default what kinds of gears do i have ??

hey guys i just got my 01 m6 camaro z28 this car came pretty fixed up, but what im trying to find out what kind of gears i have. when im in 6th going 80 its about 1500 rpms on the door it has GU5 which i know is 323 gears but like i said the previous owner did do some work on it..

if it came with an m6 you have 3.42s stock.

Sounds like you have the stock 3.42 gears. I have an m6 with 3.73's and I run right around 1750 at 70 mph

that sounds good i was thinking about getting some 4.11's but all these forms about 3.73's vs 4.11's is making me reconsider ..

3.73s are mostly for autos and 4.11 are m6's

Sounds like you have the stock 3.23's and it was an Auto conversion. @ 80 I'm at like 1700 or so maybe alittle higher.

GU6 is for the 3.42's so check your rpo sticker for any of these and it will tell you what came with the car

compnine decoder. You have Gu5 though which is performance gear for a auto. Gu4 is 2.73's and ALL factory 6spd cars came with Gu6 which is 3.42's.

man its MX0 and M30 damn i guess it was an auto my dreams are crashed , thanks guys! lol anyways im still looking for a rear end .. what gears do ya'll think are good (if yall mind educating this noob)

for a 6 speed either the 3.42s or 4.11's but make sure you dont destroy your 10 bolt

alot of people have trouble with the 12 bolt becuase of the torque arm and it starts to make noise. i would go with the 9"

^yes it does.

I went with a 12 bolt moser, 3.73s. Mine doesnt make noise, but alot of people complain about theirs whining.
