Here are a few pics of the progress that's been made on my Firebird in the past 2 weeks.

This is the car loaded on the trailer (in the rain, of course) just before we leave for JMS Collision in Williamsburg 2 weeks ago.

Here is my car on the Frame Machine.

Here is a shot of the car back on the trailer leaving to come home today.

And here it is home sweet home.

Speaking with Mike from JMS, he said he was more than pleased about the way the car pulled and how it turned out. He doesn't believe I have nearly as much work ahead of me as what they had thought when I showed them the car immediately following the accident.

I, myself, am very happy with the way the car has come along. Rather than leaning hard to the right, my Firebird now has its proper stance. (Actually its a bit tall due to the lack of an engine, but you know what I mean.) The ****** looks like it'd go down the road. And you can imagine how much easier it is to push the car around. I'm more than pleased how it's turned out and am very glad I chose to have it pulled on rather than simply cut apart.

I saw your thread with the mystery piece(s) from your Oil Drain Plug. You must have found out some bad news regarding them?

Yeah, my damm valve seals, did research on other forums and seems that was common with that style, they either don't seal, and ride up till the spring eats the top of them. Stock might just be the best way to go, they are proven to work without flaws.

Oh its no problem dude, Im going with an LS3 Forged pistons Big cam, ringed for some spray n all that jazz. Hoping to be around 650-700 on bottle, and mid 500's NA. I love my Ls1, and its a stout lil motor, But I just feel the need to go faster. Im sure soon after i'll be rebuilding the car for some boost or something crazy. Never ending cycle once you get the go fast bug!

I know exactly what you mean. You think I havent been thinking about an ls3 for my ride? HAHAHA thats one reason I was asking
Mid 500s NA would be nice. I'll be paying attention to your ls3 build to get an idea for my car also. Make it good bruh

Damn, LAST. Sorry to hear that, man, but it seems you're taking this in stride very well. You're using a negative and turning it into a positive. That's awesome! Good luck with your build. I can't wait until mine is back together and I can get to worrying about breaking performance parts in my LS1.

Definitely man, always look at the positive. And its really no big deal, all that has to be done is replace the valve seals and problem solve. The trick is doing the valve seal swap when the motor is still in the car. That is a b***c!!! Since I was planning on pulling it out and forging for a big shot, I was gona do the seals at the same time. Then I got the crazy idea to go ls3 since a friend had one available for me. And there u have it... going under knife once more, lolz. Im gona miss this LS1, im sure its gona make the next owner as happy as it made me.

Nitrous was a fail... the kit I bought off a member had a solenoid with swollen plunger, and ripped it off. My next build will have all new nitrous stuff, and It'll be a big *** shot!!! lolz
