Default Cam & setup?

its a 98 Pontiac t/a auto bone stock right now i have ls6 ported heads im going wit the 3.42 gears,3800 stall, pacesetters & ls6 air lid all waiting to get installed i hoping this cam would be a good choice for alot of horse power.i was thinking V3 torque cam what do yall think?? or should i reconsider this and goo with a better Cam?
ps im looking to make atleast 450hp with this setup is it possible?

Do you plan on DDing this car? I think 450hp is possible but you won't have much low/midrange power so wouldn't be very comfortable to drive on the street.

also consider some cams from vengeance racing,thunder racing,or EPS cams.

It seems like all you want is max hp. If you want max hp just shove the biggest freaking camshaft you can in there get it tuned and call it a day. I guarantee you though you will be scratching your head when a smaller cammed LS beats you. I have seen it too many times but those huge cams are gonna want more gear than a 3.42 for sure though.

That's a big number you are shooting for in a stalled car. Not saying in can't be done, but you are not going to just put a cam in and get 450hp. It's going to take some planning. Good luck with your goal.

He says ported ls6 heads too. Depending on what company he has port them its possible.

Yes I know he said ported heads. Like you said it depends on the heads work. A fast will help.

Now i dont know a whole lot about modding ls1's just yet, but my advice would be to go with 3.73 gears instead of the 3.42s.
